Never Sleep Again

 We are halfway to HHN and speculation is upon us for the IP houses. One that is in hot gossip is a Freddy house, or Nightmare on Elm Street. These movies actually give me a bit of heartburn, as the series that scarred me in my childhood. I remember a child opening a present in their driveway and a bladed glove pulling him from the throat into it. Below are two bounding outfits for the event. Some of us are more on the nose with our styles while some of us a little less. Either style will definitely get the point across. I definitely recommend cropping Freddy’s signature sweater at the waste & also sleeves to bear the Florida heat, though!!! 

Celebrating the Duck

 I have always had a special place in my heart for this I’ll-mannered mallard. Donald Duck turns 90 this year! Here I have put together a bounding concept 2 ways. Not all of us are comfortable with skirts (thick thighs may save lives, but mine hate humidity and heat). 

Who ya gonna call?

 One of my favorite childhood franchises that has had a reboot is Ghostbusters. I have seen these films countless times. Partly because back in the late 80’s and early 90’s they would play on TV and they would be highly entertaining each time to watch when home bored for the summer. These 2 looks are very wearable but still offer some fun punches of quirk for the nostalgic enthusiasts like me. I’m going to be rocking one of these at HHN 33 for sure this year! One fun way to add flair to basic pieces is to buy iron on patches- which is what I have shown with the blue crossbody below. Sometimes you want to spell out what you are going for right? I love the slimes look of those sneakers as well. Ecto!!!!

Guardians of The Galaxy

 So the GOTG ride at EPCOT is a family favorite over here. Both my boys absolutely must ride it at every visit. For that, this is dedicated to them! My youngest son actually owns a Star Lord jacket from the store off the ride, and also the helmet. So he does not actually need to bound- he can full-out dress as this lead man. Taking into account the Florida heat, I tried to source pieces that would wear well when it is 90 degrees out. No one wants to sweat for fashion! 

A New Hope- 2024

 With halfway to Halloween and also May the Fourth this month here is an ode to both in one!  Each of these are super easy to emulate for the average person. I sourced them all from Amazon, but really all these pieces could come from a thrift shop or Walmart/target depending on the time of year. Some of this could be sitting in your own closet. The utility belts could also be diy-ed from a regular belt or using scraps of material or felt. If you see one of these variations in asking around MK during MNSHP, it might just be me. 

Bride & Fungus!

Less than 2 weeks away from my favorite special event of the season!! I can’t wait to fill up at Taste of Terror to start off. These next two looks are a little more subtle, but again keeping it on theme and Florida weather appropriate. I’ve been scoping out the set pieces being brought in for the scarezones and like every year, they are elaborate and look great. My favorite is the FEDRA inspection station. (Pictured above). 

If you don’t know, this is gassed on Tiffany Valentine in Bride of Chucky and the Chucky Series. I love Jennifer Tilly, so had to give her some props here. There is no way that anyone is going to love wearing a leather jacket in this heat, so I kept the look with a lighter option and a tennis dress. HHN- Stranger Things Heavy!

I know it’s July, but all over tik tok and all over Florida it is feeling more like fall- although the weather begs to differ. Halloween season comes quicker every year, with good reason! It’s so fun and out of the norm. You get to be a bit spookier and kookier with no judgement. Over at Casa de spicy- we are going to be having a Halloween party- Glam style. I’ve been picking up things here and there as I come across them, but let me tell you that Homegoods has the most by far, especially for party items like serving dishes and decor.

I love Dustin from ST! He is the heart of the show, and embodies teenage awkwardness to the fullest. This is an ode to Dusty-bunny. Remember that this event is in Orlando, and although is a Halloween event, there is No Fall in Florida. It will be hot, so make sure your clothes breaths. This romper is just the thing to keep you cool, along with the button up shirt that offers some cover for the strong air conditioning. The hat can be customized with Camp Knowhere if you are handy with a cricut. I actually own this cross body bag, and it’s small and lightweight with a good amount of pockets. I love it!

I love Nancy Wheeler just as much. She reminds me of my big sister in her style and ever-annoyed attitude toward her younger brother. She is definitely channeling preppy throughout the show, but you know she’s got an edge! This outfit is definitely all Nancy! Check out this camera purse, which I think is my favorite price for sure. Each of these can be used for everyday wear as separate pieces, but all together, there is no mistaking who you are paying tribute to.
